Administrative Support V
Your Opportunity:
This Administrative Support V (AS V) role supports the Edmonton Zone Food, Linen & Environmental Services (FLES) Onboarding and Training Team (OBTT). Reporting to the FLES OBTT Coordinator, the position provides advanced administrative, operational, and recruitment support with minimal supervision. Key duties include preparing documents, managing correspondence, maintaining filing systems and shared drives, supporting recruitment processes, and handling data entry and information management. The successful candidate demonstrates strong communication, confidentiality, organization, flexibility, and teamwork. The role works closely with the OBTT Coordinator, team members, and internal/external clients to support recruitment, training materials, operational procedures, and consistent application of AHS standards across Edmonton Zone sites. This hybrid position is based at the Food Service Centre (8507 51 Ave, Edmonton), with three onsite and two remote days weekly. Travel within the Edmonton Zone is required. Hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:15. The role requires strong customer service skills, adaptability, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will provide comprehensive human resources and operational support, including: Human Resources & Recruitment: Creating job postings, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, updating candidate status in e People (RMS), supporting interview processes, and managing recruitment documentation. Operational & Administrative: Responding to inquiries, preparing and formatting documents and reports, maintaining applications (MS Teams, Excel, Adobe), performing quality checks across systems, managing filing systems and shared drives, collecting required documentation, and providing end user support for AHS applications and processes.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum two years of experience in an advanced administrative support role involving recruitment and HR processes. Completion of a recognized secretarial or office administration program. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe, MS Teams, and SharePoint. Demonstrated advanced Excel skills, including formulas and spreadsheet management. Minimum typing speed of 65 wpm. Knowledge of office equipment (photocopiers, projectors, voicemail systems). Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve concerns effectively. Valid Alberta driver’s license and access to a vehicle with insurance (multi-site travel required). This position requires you to be able to bend, lift, push, and pull items of up to 30lbs and perform repetitive movements while standing or sitting. All new employees must be able to attend a 4-day Linen and Environmental Service New Employee Orientation followed by an onsite orientation shift. Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrates independence, sound judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail. Training in ergonomics or Workplace Health & Safety. Completion of AHS Required Organizational Learning. Experience with RMS and/or recruitment processes. Knowledge of FLES operations. Relevant experience may be considered. Residency within the Edmonton Zone (travel required).
