Your Opportunity:
The Administrative Assistant V provides diversified and advanced administrative expertise to the Executive Director of Royal Alexandra Hospital Emergency, Trauma and Inpatient Surgery; as well as EZ Emergency. This is a demanding position that requires extensive knowledge, skill, and initiative to effectively navigate the healthcare environment with a high degree of independence. Working within a fast-paced environment and multiple competing demands, the administrative assistant acts as a delegate for the Executive Director and as an information conduit within the portfolio, clinical divisions, RAH and other AHS sites within the zone. The incumbent will be responsible to make independent decisions to navigate and solve problems effectively. This position assists with the day-to-day operations by providing a full range of administrative duties including: complex calendar management, scheduling and prioritizing meetings, preparing and drafting letters, minutes, communications, presentations, spreadsheets and other documentation as required for the Executive Director. Researches, organizes, prioritizes and responds to requests for information to support programs, activities and committee work. The successful candidate must demonstrate an attitude of welcoming, appreciation and pride in their work that is in line with essential employee habits of the RAH WAY.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate of a recognized program in office administration, office technology or secretarial sciences required. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a professional and respectful manner required. Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the department and AHS. Advanced computer skills Microsoft Office Suite. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet) Working knowledge of AHS systems and processes such as e-People, ESP, i-Expense, e-Facilities, Share Point and Connect Care. Accuracy and thorough knowledge of spelling, punctuation and grammar required. Excellent attention to detail required. Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and tight deadlines. Ability to follow and handle advanced or specialized duties requiring extensive knowledge of the department and AHS policies and procedures. Ability to build relationships by establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the department and AHS. Ability to focus on stakeholder needs by anticipating, understanding, and responding to the needs of stakeholders to meet or exceed their expectations. Minimum 3-5 years of progressive administrative support experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:Equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Experience within a healthcare setting is preferred.
