Administrative Support IV - Mental Health Clerk
Your Opportunity:
The primary purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with the units [managers and clerks] and maintain communication with all individuals and coordinate the information to ensure that all legislative requirements are met. To work as a professional, independent Mental Health Act Clerk. Exhibiting a knowledge of the legal aspects for patient certification and rights under the Mental Heatlh Act. You will work collaboratively with the Physicians and Treatment Teams on all units. Precision and detail in all areas is a necessity. On a daily basis, a listing of all admitted patients is printed from Connect Care, the certifications are validated or submitted for correction. When task completed the newly admitted or certified patients are provided copies of information pertaining to their hospital stay and legal rights. It is essential to be aware of all forms utilized and time frames for completion and submission. Essential to be knowledgeable to provide the necessary information regarding the forms and processes to all individuals upon request [patient, family, treatment team, physician]. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:5 years' experience working with the Mental Health Act and Registration of patients. Extensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act, ATIA, POPA and all forms associated with the Mental Health Act. Extensive knowledge computer programs: Microsoft Office, Connect Care: Epic-Reports-Analytics-Catalog; Media Manager, One Note, Chart Editor. Extensive knowledge of the Forms utilized to present a patient for assessment and or admission Extensive knowledge in validating the information on all Admission Certificates to be correct and awareness for corrections to be made. Extensive knowledge regarding the Form 1 and 2 Completeness Review. Extensive knowledge of the Written Statement of Certification, Formal Patients' Forms, Patient Advocate Request Form, and Consent to Disclose Form.
Preferred Qualifications:The ability to work professionally with physicians and the unit treatment teams. Extensive knowledge regarding Form 12's, Review Panel Application, Notification of hearing and Liaising with RVP Coordinator. Detail orientated and precise in data entry. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
