Join our Administrative Support team in the Ambulatory Outpatient Clinics! The Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH) is a bright modern, family centered facility that is a cornerstone for quality care and research for the children of Calgary and southern Alberta. ACH is the largest public hospital for sick children in Alberta. As an Administrative Support IV, you will work both collaboratively and independently with a multi-disciplinary team within the Dental Clinic. You will perform a variety of administrative support duties including but not limited to: reception duties, answering telephone calls and communicating with patients, registering patients for clinic appointments, preparing/creating patient charts, maintaining patient records and documentation, scheduling/booking appointments, and other clerical duties as required. You will be expected to demonstrate exceptional customer service and telephone etiquette skills when communicating with the children and families in the outpatient clinics. As the Admin Support IV you will be self-directed; have strong communication, professionalism and customer service skills; demonstrate critical thinking, time management, confliction resolution, decision-making and problem-solving skills; accurately collect & document information in a timely manner; be adaptable in an environment with constant interruptions and short timelines; show accountability and attention to detail; and demonstrate an attitude of respect, caring, and compassion for all patients and families in our care.

Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience using an electronic booking/scheduling system. MOA and/or Unit Clerk program including a practicum placement within a healthcare setting. 1 year experience providing administrative support in a dental setting. Experience handling insurance claims.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with booking appointments, chart management, understanding of clinic work flow/processes, telephone etiquette and skills. Experience working with children in an educational/healthcare, childcare or related setting. Experience with the following programs: Connect Care, Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Word.
