Polite and professional, you can effectively monitor a variety of tasks and projects, incoming and outgoing stocks and inventory, and manage the multiple schedules and calendars for your department. Alberta Health Services (AHS) is now seeking someone like you for the position of Administrative Support IV within the Provincial Integrated Respiratory Services (PIRS) program. Through PIRS, Respiratory Therapists provide community care to chronically home ventilated patients in Alberta, and support rural and suburban community hospitals with on-call respiratory therapy support and in-person clinical services. You’ll answer calls, manage inventory, and ensure the shipping and receiving of essential equipment and supplies to and from Albertans with chronic respiratory issues. Your reception and customer service experience make you an important point of contact and if not the face, a friendly voice for all who interact with PIRS. Business is primarily conducted in Calgary and Edmonton, so a primary residence in one of Alberta’s major cities would be an asset. Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 5 years of medical department experience in an acute or community care setting, training in medical terminology, proficiency in all Microsoft Suite applications, Adobe Acrobat, and experience with various AHS applications such as Connect Care (with applicable administrative assistant or unit clerk ILT training), Oracle, e-Facilities, and the IT/HR Service Hub. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual who has experience with a range of administrative tasks and processes. Comfortable with reception duties, effectively monitoring and prioritizing calls from the main phone line, as well as communicating with the assigned virtual respiratory therapist (RRT). The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, interacting with patients in a caring and compassionate nature. Can successfully manage supply calls, including patient communications, inventory management, shipping and receiving, as well as a knowledge of billing and claims processes. Able to perform calendar maintenance, booking meetings, meeting minutes, agendas, etc. Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for data entry and database management. Training in medical terminology, proficiency in all Microsoft Suite applications, and Adobe Acrobat. As the first contact someone may have with PIRS, this individual is someone who shows and maintains a professional and respectful presence and attitude in the work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous AHS experience, including experience with AHS software such as iProcurement, AHS Stores, and Connect Care training, including reporting, hospital account registration, workflow management, and scheduling would be an asset.
