Administrative Support IV
Your Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Business Manager of Neurosurgery in the Edmonton Zone, this position is responsible for providing administrative support to a Complex Spine Neurosurgeon in the Division of Neurosurgery. Working with a team of individuals in a very fast paced environment, you will be responsible for arranging and coordinating patient clinics at multiple locations, booking surgical procedures with relevant documentation at multiple locations, booking diagnostic testing, and reviewing and entering referrals from other practitioners. As this position serves as the conduit between patients, physicians and other support staff, the incumbent must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills in a highly stressful environment.

Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of post-secondary education in Medical Office Assistant or Office Administration with a minimum of three years of directly related experience in a health care setting. Completion of Medical Terminology. Minimum of three years of Connect Care experience. Working in the OR would be a definite asset.
Preferred Qualifications:In addition to the additional required qualifications, we are seeking an individual with outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills including the ability to work under pressure, work independently with minimal supervision and be able to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands. The successful candidate must be able to exhibit professionalism, judgement, tact, diplomacy and discretion while dealing with highly sensitive and confidential issues.
