Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary training: Medical Office Assistant/Unit Clerk. Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize, problem solve and handle frequent interruptions required. Effective communication techniques (correct use of business English, spelling, grammar, proofreading). Self-directed, critical thinker, effective time management, flexibility & attention to detail At least 5 years administrative experience within a medical setting, similar to in size and scope to the department of surgery. At least 5 years’ experience in patients booking/referral/waitlist management, scheduling. Excellent working knowledge of NetCare and Connect Care. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Calendar & Email). Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image, manage stressful situations with empathy and to remain calm, courteous, sensitive and tactful at all times.
