Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in business administration, medical office assistant), or other related fields.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years recent experience at an administrative level in a subspecialty, ambulatory care setting providing administrative support to physicians and patients. Experience with Millennium Scheduler, eClinibase, Netcare. Proficient in the use of video conferencing platforms and peripherals (i.e., Skype for Business, Zoom). Proficient in Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016 (Outlook, Word, Excel). Demonstrated experience in appointment booking and patient interaction. Experience in comparable work environment with similar scope, independence, responsibility and authority. Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload, handle competing priorities within tight timelines and communicate with others in a tactful, courteous and respectful manner. Must demonstrate initiative and be able to work with limited supervision or direction. Extensive knowledge and experience with patient/customer service, problem solving and conflict resolution. Proficient with document management including filing, scanning documents as well as creating and editing PDFs. Proficient typing skills with 60 WPM. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to deal with difficult issues in a sensitive and confidential manner. Ability to foster and promote teamwork, collaboration and partnership.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a unionized environment. Previous experience with working in a fast-paced multitasking high call volume environment an asset. Working knowledge of Iron Mountain procedures and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act. Understanding of the importance of privacy and confidentiality when dealing with patient care information.
