Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of one-year clerical experience in an acute, time-sensitive healthcare environment. Proficiency in timekeeping, payroll and staff scheduling. Medical terminology or equivalent education. Strong organizational skills. Strong understanding of AUPE and UNA collective agreements. Proficient written and verbal, telephone and electronic communication skills to support safe patient/family care and interdisciplinary collaboration. Exhibit a high degree of professionalism with strong time management and prioritization skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a dynamic team environment. Able to work in a high traffic, fast-paced, acute interdisciplinary environment with frequent interruptions and distractions. Able to lift, push, or pull more than 15kg. Being able to bend, lift, reach above shoulder, walk long distances at times, and sit for extended periods of time are requirements. Computer keyboarding skills and proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and SharePoint. Ability to prioritize and manage stress. Must be able to maintain calm demeanor during difficult conversations with patients, staff and visitors. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated maintenance of AHS Required Organizational Learning (ROL).
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an Ambulatory Care setting. Experience in Oncology/Hematology department. Proficiency in Connect Care platforms including registration and patient scheduling.
