Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year of current medical or clerical experience in referral management required. Completion of Accredited Unit Clerk / MOA program. Extensive experience and competence with multiple computer systems required including Outlook, MS Word, and Excel. Accurate keyboarding required (at least 50 words/minute). Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task required. Ability to adapt to changing/expanding environment required. Excellent English verbal and written skills required. Ability to work with frequent interruptions in a loud and busy environment required. Ability to foster positive interpersonal and communication skills with health care providers, allied health care professionals, peers, departmental management, and other individuals in a professional manner required. Required to work with minimal supervision, prioritize, and problem solve tasks within many changing situations. Ability to use sound judgment and analytical skills using a high degree of accuracy to make decisions regarding patient referrals required. Experience with office equipment, such as fax, photocopier, and multi-line telephones required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with payroll and timekeeping preferred. Data review, collection and analysis experience preferred. Experience with detailed clinical reporting and the creation and managing of excel spreadsheets preferred. Experience using Connect Care (Epic) & NetCare with referral clerical training preferred. Rightfax experience preferred. Previous experience with Gastroenterology Medicine, Endoscopy, Outpatient & Surgical Services an asset.
