This Evening Casual position is located at Sturgeon Community Hospital will be accountable for performing a variety of tasks to ensure a quality patient, resident and customer experience. Under the general supervision of a NFS Supervisor, you will use your customer service, teamwork and organizational skills to (if applicable to role) receive and process orders; prepare financial reports; vendor management; process of payment of event costs; any cash handling duties; follow established procedures to maintain patient information related to meal service; processes food preferences, menus and/or tray tickets, food allergies, intolerances and meal tallies; effectively communicate with other departments on matters related to patient meals, snacks, nourishment supplies; adhere to safety, sanitation, and food preparation standards in accordance with AHS policies and guidelines; complete other clerical duties as required. This position may require you to be able to bend, lift, push, and pull items of up to 20lbs. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with speed and accuracy; Work under pressure in high-stress situations; Demonstrate critical thinking skills and initiative; Communicates effectively in English with customers, patients, co-workers, and other hospital departments; Work as an effective, professional team member with a focus on exceptional patient and family-centered care.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum standard for typing is 35 words per minute. Minimum 1 year experience in commercial or healthcare food service environment. Minimum 1 year customer service experience. All new employees must be able to attend 2 days of Patient Food Service New Employee Orientation followed by an onsite orientation shift. Preferred Qualifications:Post-secondary administrative assistant/clerical education or education in a related field. Experience with basic mathematical skills. One year of experience working in a diet office setting. Experience with CBORD, ConnectCare, RMID and Formula Calculator. Experience working with diet terminology & guidelines.
