Bachelor's degree in Addictions or a combination of a bachelor's degree in a related field with course work in addictions. A related degree combined with a diploma related to addictions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act (Alberta) must maintain active registration. Individuals may require authorization/permission under regulation to perform restricted psychosocial interventions and/or restricted activities.
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum two (2) years in addiction and mental health field within the last five (5) years. A minimum two (2) years direct addiction counselling experience within the last five (5) years. Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Preferred Qualifications:Masters level degree in a related field. Previous experience working with psychosis. Previous experience with CTO’s. Experience providing addiction and/or mental health treatment to the young adult population. Experience conducting Motivational Interviewing. Experience doing community outreach. Case Management experience. Experience, and training in, the delivery of addiction and mental health therapeutic interventions such as Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, etc.
