Addiction & Mental Health Recovery Worker
Your Opportunity:
This is a permanent full time Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Worker position, working with the Assertive Outreach Team in Fort McMurray. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:
As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community based services to persons with a chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers. In this position, you will work under the direction of a regulated health provider.

Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year working in Mental Health and Addiction Community program.
Preferred Qualifications:Certification in Mental Health First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; engaging and approachable. Previous experience in outreach or community engagement is preferred. Solid understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
