Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent 1-2 years of surgical or acute medicine experience. A recent successful preceptorship on an inpatient surgical unit will be considered. This job is physically demanding, the incumbent will be required to assist with lifting, turning, and mobilizing patients as well as other physical tasks. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods up to 5 hours of an 8 hour shift and occasionally lift weights up to 11 kg (24 pounds) and push/pull weights up to 27 kg (60 pounds). Ability to lift 5 kg (8-11 pounds) above shoulder. Ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends and statutory holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:One to two years of recent related surgical experience.
