Your Opportunity:
Must be able to cope with high noise levels during meal service. Must be able to operate computerized cash registers and associated computer programs. Occasionally required to lift weights of up to 25lbs. Great manual and visual dexterity. Significant periods of standing during the majority of the shift. Exposure to various chemical compounds and cleaners; some of which require special handling. Must be able to work holidays, weekends and flexible hours as workload demands. Description: The Food Services Attendant I portions, packages and/or serves food items according to menu, diet protocol, portion control and temperature standards within an acute care or continuing care setting. The position is also responsible for cleaning equipment, supplies and surfaces throughout the kitchen. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Must display excellent communication skills. Must demonstrate the ability to do math calculations. Must display excellent public relations and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Display superior composure, tact and a pleasant disposition to patrons at all times. Possess high standards of accuracy. Must have high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Must be honest and reliable. Must have previous food service experience in an institutional setting. Proficiency in computer applications: word processing, spread sheets and database.
Preferred Qualifications:WHMIS. Food Safe.
