Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of two (2) years' experience within the last five (5) working as an MLT in a clinical laboratory setting, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, APL currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Preferred Qualifications:Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Microbiology or biosafety experience or education beyond initial MLT certification. Registered, or eligible, for Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST). Registered, or eligible, for Canadian Association for Biological Safety - Biological Safety Officer Designation. Recent (within the last 5 years) experience or education in change management, project management, and/or process improvement.
