Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:5-7 years current clinical experience in a large Microbiology Laboratory. Minimum of five-year experience in Public Health Laboratory. Minimum of three-year experience specifically in Specialized Diagnostic area. Expertise in areas including but not limited to PCR, rt-PCR, RT-PCR, Nucleic Acid Extraction, sequencing including whole genome sequencing, sample processing and instrument troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a supervisory role. Process Excellence and Change Management training. Experience with College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation program. Familiar with the Human Pathogen and Toxins Act (HPTA) program components.
