Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 3 years clinical biochemistry experience within the last 5 years. Extensive knowledge of biochemistry methodology and instrumentation specific to the Biochemistry department. Working knowledge of a clinical laboratory and operational best practices, accreditation requirements and respective Collective Agreement. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety. Strong computer skills using spreadsheets, word processing and presentation applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Well-developed skills in prioritizing, organization, decision making and time management. Excellent written/verbal communication and analytical skills. Able to adapt quickly and effectively in a dynamic, high volume, high demand testing department. Able to work both independently and as a team member while leading by example.
Preferred Qualifications:Related baccalaureate degree. Previous MLT II experience in a lab setting with multiple direct reports. Completed courses in Leadership training; coaching/providing feedback, conflict resolution, change management.
