Your Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technologist to join our McLennan team. This position includes day shifts Monday through Sunday, with evening on-call responsibilities. Weekend shifts are scheduled on a 1-in-3 rotation. This position is initially offered at 0.5 FTE, with the opportunity to pick up additional hours up to full-time based on operational needs and your availability. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, APL currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Relocation assistance may be available, subject to a return-of-service agreement.

Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

As required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in phlebotomy and electrocardiogram (ECG) procedures. Experience with laboratory instrumentation, including Vitros XT, Sysmex XN, Triage Meter, i-STAT & ACL Elite Pro analyzers.
