Join the Edmonton Zone Anatomic Pathology team! With the primary site at the University of Alberta Hospital and an additional site at the Cross Cancer Institute, your opportunity to provide high quality patient care will cover an exciting variety of duties in Anatomic Pathology. Duties include but are not limited to: grossing all specimens within the complexity levels 1-4, assisting in the gross room, performing frozen sections, contributing to quality control/improvement projects, handling and preparing tissue for routine or specialized processing, embedding and microtomy, routine and specialized staining procedures, performing routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting of various laboratory instruments and quality control activities. The candidate may also be required to be on call to support urgent procedures after routine operational hours on a rotational basis.
Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:As required.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent and relevant experience grossing specimens of complexities CPL 1-4 a strong asset Experience with Epic – Beaker, AP Modules Experience with DMO or other voice recognition dictating software.
