Bassano Laboratory & X-Ray is located in the Bassano Health Centre and serves the town as well as its surrounding area. Bassano is located 35 minutes from Brooks, Alberta. The Bassano Health Centre is staffed with an experienced team of laboratory professionals that offer strong patient focused service to their community. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will be a member of the interdisciplinary team where you are responsible for providing exemplary patient care by applying regional policies, procedures and work practices within the laboratory department. You will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, and performing ECGs. With a customer service focused approach, you build productive and respectful customer relations and take responsibility for customer satisfaction. You have an ability to encourage others, building positive, respectful and collaborative working relationships.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful applicant must have a strong sense of teamwork and possess excellent communication skills. Strong phlebotomy skills and adaptability is imperative in this position.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous rural experience is an asset.
