The APL Mobile Collections department is seeking skilled and experienced Medical Laboratory Assistants to join our team. Our Mobile MLAs provide service to patients in long-term care facilities and personal residences throughout our mobile service areas. Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous phlebotomy experience and ECG certification required. Valid Class 5 driver's License or non GDL acceptable to APL. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. on a frequent basis. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on client service and public relations. Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and accurately. Ability to recognize patients in distress and provide appropriate assistance. Flexibility to meet operational needs, including varying work hours and locations. Proficiency in data entry.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of two years of recent phlebotomy experience. ECG experience. Previous experience working in a Mobile Collections environment. Working knowledge of Connect Care and the Mobile Collection Information System (MCIS). Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and decision‑making skills. Strong commitment to professionalism and maintaining confidentiality. Training or courses in leadership, customer service, or change management.
