Alberta Precision Labs (APL) is looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to work in a fast-paced, public-facing Patient Service Centre (PSC). This individual will be required to follow lab processes and procedures, perform venipuncture, ECG’s on registered outpatients and community patients Monitor wait times to ensure we are providing best service to our patients. Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent Venipuncture experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three years of recent and related experience as a Laboratory Assistant performing Phlebotomy. 3 years of ECG experience is preferred in community services environment. ECG certificate is an asset.
