Your Opportunity:
Cardston Health Care Center Laboratory is located in the town of Cardston Alberta which is approximately 230 kms south of Calgary, 80 kms southwest of Lethbridge and 25 kms north of the State of Montana. This busy rural location serves the town as well as the surrounding communities. As an CLXT II, this opportunity allows you to mentor and supervise the day-to-day operation of department staff and services in their area. You will be responsible for the coordination, organization, and operation of the site Laboratory. You will be responsible for monitoring the collecting, analyzing, and reporting of biological specimen results. You have experience with laboratory procedures. Description:
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist II, you will direct and supervise the day-to-day operation of department staff and services in their area. You will be responsible for the coordination, organization and operation of the site Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments. You will also be responsible to perform site specific manual and automated laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging exams, cardiology procedures and related duties following established standards and practice defined by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT), College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and Health Professions Act.

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience. Proficiency in core laboratory theory including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, specimen procurement and handling, and transfusion medicine dispense. Proven competency in phlebotomy is also required.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge with the Epic Laboratory Information System is considered an asset. Previous experience working in a rural healthcare setting is preferred. Preference given to candidates with leadership experience and/or completion of related training or professional development courses.
