Your Opportunity:
Laboratory Only CLXT position. This position includes day shifts Monday through Sunday, with evening on-call responsibilities. Weekend shifts are scheduled on a 1-in-3 rotation. This position is initially offered at 0.5 FTE, with the opportunity to pick up additional hours up to full-time based on operational needs and your availability. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, APL currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Note: This vacancy may be eligible for the Recruitment Incentive. Relocation assistance may be available, subject to a return-of-service agreement.
Description:
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:As required.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in phlebotomy and electrocardiogram (ECG) procedures. Experience with laboratory instrumentation, including Vitros XT, Sysmex XN, Triage Meter, i-STAT and ACL Elite Pro analyzers.
