Your Opportunity:
The town of Fort Macleod is located approximately 100kms south of Calgary and 50kms west of Lethbridge, Alberta. This laboratory and diagnostic imaging department is located within the Fort Macleod Health Centre and serves the town of 3000 people as well as its vast surrounding farming area. Fort Macleod's main street was declared a Provincial Historic Landmark and is close to other such sites including Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump and Frank Slide. The town is approximately 100kms from the beautiful Waterton National Park as well as the Crowsnest Pass. Relocation assistance may be available.
Description:
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful applicant must have a strong sense of teamwork and possess excellent communication skills. Strong technical skills and adaptability is imperative in this position.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent phlebotomy and rural experience are an asset.
