The Hanna Health Centre is comprised of a 24-hour Emergency Department, a 17 bed Acute Care ward, and a 61 bed Long Term Care facility. This position is responsible for providing high-quality direct patient care while performing manual and automated laboratory procedures, diagnostic Imaging exams, cardiology procedures and related duties following established standards and practice defined by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT) accreditation standards and legal standards. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, this position is required to work all shifts and provide on-call coverage when assigned with a 30 minute response time to the site.
Description:
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Laboratory experience includes hematology, expanded chemistry, coagulation and urinalysis including microscopic analysis. Recent cardiology experience including ECG’s. Diagnostic Imaging experience including DR, CR and mobile radiography. Current phlebotomy experience including venipuncture, micropuncture, blood culture and Type and Screen on all ages and patient types. Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification. Proven interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent public relations and a service-oriented manner are essential. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, inter-disciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast-paced and changing environment. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, logical/methodical work habits, and demonstrated ability to work independently are required. Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care Epic, Unity Real Time, WellSky, MUSE and Agfa PEI (Xray LIS) experience and knowledge is preferred. Minimum 2 years' experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Familiar with Ortho Vitros XT 3400, Sysmex XN550, Clinitek Status Plus, iStat, Triage Pro and ACL Elite Pro instruments.
