Your Opportunity:
The laboratory is located within the Pincher Creek Health Care Center and serves not only the town, but its expansive surrounding community. Located 1 hour west of Lethbridge Alberta and 40 mins east of the British Columbia border, beautiful Pincher Creek is less than 30 mins from the Rocky Mountains and 45 mins to Waterton National Park. The town has three schools, a recreational center with a library, pool and ice rink, a splash park, daycare centers, and is approx. 35 minutes from Castle Mountain Ski Resort. Camping, fishing, and hiking are some of the many outdoor attractions that make this town a piece of paradise. Many tourist attractions are also close by for your enjoyment including the Frank Slide, Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump and the Remington Carriage Museum. This is a Laboratory only position. Relocation assistance may be available with a Return of Service Agreement.
Description:
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Strong communication and multi-tasking skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent phlebotomy and rural experience are an asset.
