Experience in a Genetics laboratory (or similar) as a Ph.D. in Genetics or a related field, plus certification in Cytogenetics by the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists (CCMG), the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG), or equivalent certification. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a cytogeneticist, and those with demonstrated relevant clinical and academic experience. Candidates possessing dual certification in molecular/cytogenetics are encouraged to apply.

Leadership skills are essential to ensure effective and consistent delivery of quality service to serve the diverse needs of the clinical and academic communities. Candidates must be able to demonstrate effective communication (both written and oral) skills, experience in quality assurance, operational efficiency and appropriateness of care. Ability to work in a dynamic, changing environment, ability to balance service and quality imperative in a resource-sensitive environment, ability to work collaboratively, building trust in working relationships, and being an overall team player.
