Your Opportunity:

You’re flexible, detail-oriented, tech-savvy and people-savvy. You know your way around basic office software and have experience with core administrative functions like scheduling. As an Administrative Support IV - Scheduler, you are a key member of the Patient Service Centers team in Calgary. While this role is not patient facing in nature, you are playing a vital role in the success of each collection site within the South Zone. Attention to detail is crucial as your responsibilities include reviewing time off requests, creation and posting of schedules, management of daily unscheduled absence coverage, working with supervisors to schedule staff training and revise posting grids, receiving and responding to emails from staff regarding schedules and time off requests and other duties as required. Your technical skills in Adobe Acrobat as well as Microsoft Excel and Outlook will help you thrive in this role. In this role your interpersonal communication skills will flourish as you are able to adapt to frequent interruptions and shifting priorities as you ensure that employees are scheduled appropriately and in accordance with APL policies, procedures, and collective agreement provisions. You will be working with multiple stakeholders in this role, which covers approximately 30 sites and 14 supervisors that you will directly support, where there will a high level of collaboration, you can anticipate the demands of leadership and staff, utilize your time management, critical thinking, conflict resolution skills and have the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment. This position works early morning shifts from 5:15 – 13:30.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in data entry. In-depth experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office with focus on Excel and Outlook. Experience and working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Community Scheduling Practices. Demonstrated knowledge of the current Collective Agreement. Experience Scheduling within a Collective Agreement. Experience / Familiarity with Staff Ready Scheduling Software.
