The RGH is a metropolitan hospital with over 600 inpatient beds. It is also the main site for urology and ophthalmology specialties. RGH is located next to the scenic Glenmore Reservoir in Southwest Calgary. RGH Social Work (within the Allied Health Portfolio) works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary teams in the Emergency Department, ICU/CCU, Medical/Surgical Units, Transition Units, and Maternal/Child Units. This position offers an opportunity work as part of a dynamic team where operational needs require flexibility to work across all portfolios. As a SW II, you will be a member of an interdisciplinary team and provide a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, and transition or discharge planning. You will have a proven ability to work effectively within a patient-centered and interdisciplinary team environment. Your assessment and critical thinking skills will be necessary to guide your work with complex family situations and system issues while also being able to support families through a myriad of circumstances. You must demonstrate an ability to provide clinical service within a continually changing health care environment. Your proven time management skills and demonstrated initiative will be an asset to this position.
