Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduation from a recognized school of Respiratory Therapy. Current BCLS-HCP certification required. Current general duty Respiratory Therapy knowledge and skills, as demonstrated in an acute care facility. Current Emergency Department Respiratory Therapy knowledge. Ability to use initiative, take responsibility, and self-organize in a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and handle competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Ability to work collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary patient care team, and interact positively with staff, physicians, patients and visitors. Proven ability to advocate effectively for patients. Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful completion of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) certification preferred. One year Respiratory Therapy clinical experience post-graduation, in an acute care setting (preference will be given to those with Emergency experience).
