Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy. Current BLS certification including expiration date. Minimum 1 year independent clinical Respiratory Therapy experience within the last 3 years in an acute care hospital setting. Consideration may be given to graduates of a Respiratory Therapy program who have completed a final practicum in an acute care setting. This RRT position includes the following physical requirements: being on one's feet for extended periods of time (including walking/standing), exposure to infectious diseases, and hazardous situations for which they are trained; be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients; be able to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment up to 20lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Independent RRT acute care experience in the last 3 years in: ICU, CVICU, Emergency, Wards, NICU. Bachelor’s degree - health related. NRP/PALS/ACLS. CSRT registration. Completion of professional development courses. Preceptor training courses. Completed FMC orientation. Participation in a healthcare committee or working group.
