Required Qualifications:

A baccalaureate degree, specializing in Addiction, Mental Health, Organizational Leadership and related fields is required (Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered). Candidates eligible for registration in a profession governed by the Health Professions Act must possess appropriate registration. A minimum of five years of work experience delivering Addiction & Mental Health services, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Two years of experience in progressively responsible leadership roles delivering Addiction and Mental Health service necessary (equivalencies may be considered) A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.


Additional Required Qualifications:

The manager must have a strong understanding of outpatient addiction and mental treatment as well as the continuum of addiction and mental health services within the South Zone. Awareness and understanding of community health and social services within Medicine Hat and Brooks is important. An effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services Be able to demonstrate leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to develop systems and manage human, financial and physical resources. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Track record of executing strategy and delivering strategic results. Proven track record of building, leading and participating in teams. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master level Degree or higher is preferred. First Aid Training preferred Non-violent crisis intervention training (preferred) Applied Suicide Intervention skills training or equivalent (preferred) Incident Command System training/experience preferred
