As a Licensed Practical Nurse in this busy rural acute care setting, you will have the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary team. The Licensed Practical Nurse will demonstrate initiative and accountability and will seek out and accept direction as required. Critical thinking skills, working within your scope of practice, including clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and strong decision-making abilities are essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as is a commitment to integrating Patient and Family Centered Care principles into your practice. The ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads will be vital. A commitment to promoting a positive work environment and to professional development is valued. On-Call Duty will be an expectation in this position. 130 km south of Calgary. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Rural Acute Care and/or ER experience within the last six months. Perform CPR.
Preferred Qualifications:ACLS certification (current). Relevant additional education/certification in wound care, palliative care, NVCI, CTAS is considered an asset.
