Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to withstand physical demands of lifting, pulling, pushing, transferring and transporting patients. Also ability to stand for long periods of time and bending is required. Ability to administer chemotherapy/biotherapy/hormones. IV certification required. Recent acute care / medicine 1 year experience required. Competency in care and management of central lines. Competency in blood & blood product administration. Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and independence of nursing practice in a multidisciplinary team environment.
