Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).
Additional Required Qualifications:Grade 12 Diploma or high school equivalent. Medical Terminology, Medical Office Assistant, Unit Clerk Specialty and/or Post-secondary education applicable to the position. Minimum two (2) years of experience within the past three (3) years in an Admitting/Registration Department. Experience in multi-patient care computer systems - Clinibase, HRCM, Netcare, Person Directory, EMPI. Minimum 6 months experience mentoring new staff. Banking and or accounting experience. Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm. Verbal and written English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Patient/ Client Scheduling. Customer service experience. Office setting reception functions. Lead clerk experience. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Critical thinking and ability to demonstrate flexibility within an environment of constant interruptions and changing work demands. Computer systems, including MS Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
