Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Program Manager of Operative Services, the Unit Manager is primarily accountable for the day-to-day management of the Operating Room, which includes direct supervision of unit staff. The Unit Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality care while maintaining efficient patient throughput. The position facilitates and fosters interdisciplinary participation in patient care activities as well as coaches, mentors, motivates, and empowers clinical staff. The Unit Manager will participate in monitoring operational budgets and operational planning at the unit and program level. The Unit Manager adheres to and serves as a role model for the Covenant Health mission, vision, and values. The responsibilities of this position are focused around four critical aspects of care and service: People and teams, Access and flow, Quality and safety, Efficiency and resources.

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BScN) required. Current registration from the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required. Current Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Certification (Level C) Health Care Provider required. Minimum of five (5) years of related clinical experience. Charge nurse experience required. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in nursing, Health Studies or Business preferred. Exhibits strong clinical knowledge and skill in Operating Room nursing. Demonstrated aptitude for leadership and progression in career. Provides evidence of professional development.
