Your Opportunity:

The Therapy Assistant is responsible for assisting members of the interdisciplinary team. Practice areas may include general or internal medicine, surgery, ICU/CCU, emergency, geriatric rehabilitation, and acute stroke care. The Therapy Assistant (TA) may assist with outpatient services such as in the areas of neurology and stroke, plastics, osteoporosis, geriatrics and musculoskeletal injuries. The TA is responsible for coordinating and prioritizing their caseload as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide client centered interventions and may be involved with the supervision of therapy assistant students. The TA may provide coverage at the GNCH and the Lakewood Community Health Center. The TA will be responsible for the delivery of services in accordance with established standards and in alignment with Covenant Health’s mission, vision, and values.

Description: The Therapy Assistant is responsible for assisting in the delivery of therapeutic rehabilitation programs.  The Therapy Assistant participates in assessment related activities as well as the planning and development of client programs which includes leading individual or group treatment and educational interventions. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: A directly related diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of a diploma from an accredited Therapy Assistant Program with training as an OTA and a PTA. One year of acute care experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of experience in acute care.
