Your Opportunity:
The Social Worker ll is a full member of the interdisciplinary team for the Women’s and Child Health Program, the role provides support to patients in Antepartum, Labour and Delivery, Postpartum and the NICU. Social Workers provide direct and consultative social work services to patients and supporting their family and significant others as needed. These services include psychosocial assessment and treatment services including individual, family and group counseling, advocacy, crisis intervention, discharge planning and coordination, follow-up; and maintenance of appropriate case records and statistics.

Description: The Social Worker II (SW) provides services to clients and families including psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, education, treatment, advocacy, resource finding, consultation, and discharge planning. The SW II is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Social Work required. Active registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Varies
Preferred Qualifications:Masters of Social Work. One to Two years related experience in Women's and Child Health. Experience with perinatal bereavement and neonatal demise. Experience and demonstrated skill in individual, family, and group therapy. Experience and demonstrated skill providing social work services in hospital setting. Experience working with Child and Family services.
