Your Opportunity:
This position reports to the Supply Chain Coordinator and is responsible for ensuring that supplies necessary to the safe and efficient functioning of the Operating Room, Recovery Room, and MDRD are available when required. This includes receiving, ordering, monitoring and storing all supplies (inventory, non-inventory, and consignment items), initiating repairs, initiating orders, arranging loaners, liaison with vendors, surgeons and staff, and appropriate documentation within inventory management systems. Description: The Senior Stores Attendant is responsible for customer service and supply distribution activities that include ordering, receiving, maintenance of warehouse and top-up cart inventories, tracking of all transactions, monitoring quotas, and ensuring that supplies are available for the department. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Grade 12 required. Working knowledge of surgical equipment instruments and supplies required. Computer literacy and ability to work with Excel, MS Word, online computer programs in Oracle and email required. Working knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, accounting processes and surgical supplies required. Must be physically able to transport and maneuver pallets, carts and supplies. Weight involved will vary and may be considerable. Excellent written and oral communication in English language. Service orientation to patients, nurses and physicians.
Preferred Qualifications:Operating Room experience 2 years minimum preferred. Working knowledge of inventory systems preferred. Proven interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Can be an effective team member. Can work and problem solve quickly and accurately with minimal supervision in a stressful environment. Can set priorities and complete essential tasks within established time frames. Attention to detail and record keeping, with high degree of neatness and completion of tasks.
