Your Opportunity:
You are a highly motivated, tech-savvy Senior Project Manager who is client-focused and committed to making a difference to the Health Shared Services organization and the larger health care system. You are conscientious and detail oriented, able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with Clinical and IT stakeholders to understand the nature of their work and deliver complex IT projects. In the role of a Senior Project Manager, you will be joining the Clinical Services Projects team supporting Connect Care and other exciting initiatives that will transform the delivery of healthcare for all Albertans. Applying your relationship building, communication, documentation, and advanced project management skills, you will work closely with and connect various teams within and outside of Health Shared Services to successfully deliver Connect Care and other Clinical IT projects.
Description:
The position is responsible for the inception, design, implementation, and closure of major Clinical Projects and Programs in the Clinical Services (CS) portfolio. Clinical Projects are provincial in nature and involve multiple stakeholders across Alberta. The Senior Project Manager provides high-level leadership within the project to deliver the business benefits required by Clinical stakeholders. This involves managing projects with tangible deliverables and benefits that have a significant level of interdependency, strategic importance and risk. The Senior Project Manager is required to solve highly complex problems and develop new solutions where existing precedent does not exist. The Senior Project Manager investigates to understand the scope and scale of the problem and, using their expertise, is to be able to come up with a plan to address the issue. The Senior Project Manager takes into account a significant number of factors in determining what the plan should be which includes: overall project schedule, multiple dependent schedules, possible or actual risks, resource requirements, costs, etc. The Senior Project Manager decides what the new plan will be, and delegates and directs work accordingly. The position provides advice and direction to clients within its specialty function and scope, and requires strong leadership, planning, communication and facilitation skills. The position balances project work with coaching and mentoring needs of the IT Clinical Projects team.

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline plus training in project management. Will consider an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Additional Required Qualifications:7 to 10+ years of project management experience in a large and complex IT environment Deep knowledge of project management principles, PMO tools, Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and project governance concepts Extensive experience leading large sized project teams Experience working in a complex matrixed organization Expertise with MS Project, MS Office suite and Visio
Preferred Qualifications:PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
