Post secondary university degree (Commerce/Business) with a major in accounting required. Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience at progressive levels of responsibility in an accounting/finance environment. Experience with account reconciliation, financial statement preparation and presentation required. Ability to liaise with internal and external parties to analyze, reconcile and evaluate accuracy of financial information required. Strong knowledge of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for not-for-profit organizations required. Must have the ability to plan workflow to ensure defined deadlines are met and refine if deadlines are shifted. Thorough working knowledge of computer software applications including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel required. A willingness and ability to acquire additional software skills as required. Must have a strong understanding of financial statements, and the integration of financial data from various sub systems. Ability to handle inquiries and assignments with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality required. Attention to detail, as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in year-end audit file preparation preferred. Experience in large not-for profit environment desired. Experience in health care sector desired. Knowledge of ORACLE financial system desired.
