Your Opportunity:
The NICU Clinical Lead is responsible for overseeing the provision of respiratory services and ensuring the effective use of both human and physical resources to allow staff to deliver optimal patient care primarily in the Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), Labor and Delivery and Women's Health Programs. The NICU Clinical Lead is also responsible for the mentoring of staff, promoting standards of practice, responding to clinical questions, coordinating ongoing skill development and education for staff and students.
Description:
The Respiratory Therapist II coordinates, monitors and assesses the clinical services in their assigned area, and acts as a clinical resource for daily operations and the development of clinical protocols. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Graduate of a recognized and accredited school of Respiratory Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration and member in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Certificate in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills required. Excellent organizational and time management skills required. Minimum three years as a practicing Respiratory Therapist required. Experience in NICU required. Experience in an acute care teaching hospital required. Knowledge and understanding of POCT, Accreditation Standards, Health Professions Act, CRTA Standards of Practice and Code of Conduct/Ethics required. Current N95 Mask Fit Test required. Excellent computer skills and experience in electronic charting required.
Preferred Qualifications:Active membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) preferred. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Training and experience with point of care ultrasound (POCUS). Completion of Trec and Trac training preferred. Additional courses in Smoking Cessation, Patient Education, Student Preceptoring and area specific training preferred.
