Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses are also required: 1) CRNA Medication Administration Certificate - https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F 2) NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification - https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of five (5) years of recent Labour and Delivery nursing experience, including five (5) years experience in the Labour and Delivery Operating Room. Demonstrated proficiency in scrub and circulating roles for Caesarean sections, as well as providing care in the Obstetrical Post-Anesthetic Recovery Room (OPARR). Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) certifications are required. A minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a Charge Nurse in a Labour and Delivery unit is also required.
Preferred Qualifications:Perioperative or ORNAC course completion. Current or previous NRP instructor and/or FHS instructor an asset. Current or previous committee participation an asset.
