Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses are also required: 1) CRNA Medication Administration Certificate - https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F 2) NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification - https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department Nursing experience. Must have recent experience (within the past 2 years) in a high-volume Urban Emergency Department; Equivalent ICU/CCU experience may be considered. Proficiency in resuscitation and/or trauma team care with associated training and demonstrated clinical experience required. Proven competency in cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia recognition and accurate interpretation of ECG’s. Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, organization, and documentation skills and the ability to manage multiple patients in a fast paced, high acuity environment. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:ED charge nurse experience preferred. Triage experience preferred. One (1) or more of the following active certifications: ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, ENA Emergency Certificate, NRP, ITLS. ACCN completion. ENPEP completion.
