Your Opportunity:
This CT position is based out of Foothills Medical Centre in a very dynamic and fast paced Diagnostic Imaging Department. The CT Technologist, under limited supervision, assesses patients, analyzes and interprets diagnostic data, and provides information to the Radiologist to assist in diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management. These services are performed in an effective efficient and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team this position is responsible for working all shifts and on call as assigned. This position may rotate through the Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:CAMRT Continuing Education course (CT 1,2,3 or equivalent CT training). Courses in progress will be recognized. Member in good standing and current registration/eligible for registration with the ACMDTT. Minimum two years general technical experience. I.V Certification. General knowledge of computers. Ability to work confidently, independently and within collaborative partnerships/teams. Strong organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively liaison with various professionals. Perception, initiative, accountability, good judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Ability to effectively communicate in English required. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control and safety techniques as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:Preferred 2 years current CT experience. Preferred Cardiac CT experience.
