Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent (within 2 years) surgical experience required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent assessment and organizational skills. Committed to safe, effective and ethical patient care and work practices. Ability to work in a fast paced, highly stressful environment. Able to deescalate tense situations. A recent successful preceptorship on a surgical unit will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:Day surgery and/or ambulatory connect care proficiency.
