Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:2 years of Addictions and/or Mental Health experience within the last 3 years. New grads who have completed a final preceptorship in an Addiction and/or Mental Health site or emergency department may be considered. Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Experience with mental status assessments. Experience in various risk assessment i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, VAST, Trauma Informed Care, Domestic Violence screening.
Preferred Qualifications:Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) preferred. Nursing experience in an urgent care setting or emergency is preferred. Knowledge of the Addiction and Mental Health related resources across the Edmonton Zone preferred.
