You will support the orientation of new nurses, helping them build confidence, competence, and clinical judgment as they transition into the surgical environment. Through mentorship, coaching, and education, you will create a supportive learning environment that encourages professional growth and lifelong learning. The Clinical Nurse Educator serves as a key resource for nursing staff by identifying learning needs, developing educational initiatives, and implementing strategies that enhance clinical skills and improve patient outcomes. Description:

The Instructor's primary role is to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and excellence in nursing. Exercising adult principles of learning, the Instructor will design, enhance and provide staff orientation, education, clinical consultation, development, and/or evaluation. The Instructor's nursing practice will reflect a current, broad knowledge base, and excellent nursing skills that enable her/him to function as a role model and support staff in accordance with Covenant Health's Mission, Vision, and Values. The Instructor will function independently in formal and informal learning environments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years of recent surgical nursing experience is required with demonstrated teaching, leadership, and facilitation skills, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication abilities, are essential. The successful candidate will be flexible, highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) in Perioperative Surgical care environment.
